I made Mexican casserole for diner and boy was it good!!!! Then I made a homemade from LeeAnn's recipes pound cake and that was really really good. So thank you to both people who gave me both recipes.I also have some strawberries for the boys to put on their cake.

Here are some of the animals you can feed but not touch and some pictures of the general store that they have. They have homemade fudge and ice cream and lots of other things they sell. There is also a gem mining post that looked pretty neat we may try it next time.

Pumpkin Field
We were disappointed in the pumpkin field. It was cool to see from a distance but once you got into it you see that the pumpkins are not grown there they are from a local grocery store. All along the side of the field you see crates of them that have been bought and brought over, some of them still had the store codes on them. But Carly had fun trying to pick them up and carry them she kept saying ball ball.It was so cute.

Hillridge Farm Pictures
At the farm they have a train ride, a giant 80 foot slide and pony rides. They also have a Small animal farm where you can feed the animals but not touch them, which of course made me mad I mean what's the point if you can't pet them. There was a giant tee pee and a fort for the kids to play in. These are pictures of Carly in the tee pee and then on the train and the hay ride.

Our trip to Hillridge Farms
Today we went to a town I have never heard of called Youngsville in NC. I keep seeing the ad's on TV for this pumpkin patch that had hay rides and a lot of other things for kids to do, so we went today. It is in youngsville NC which was about an 1hr and 45 mins from us. We left the house around 1030 and stopped in Rocky mount to pick up Jon's mom and then off we went. We really didn't know what to expect but were very surprised when we got there. It was huge. It is geared for kids probably from 2 1/2 or 3 up to 8 or 9. A lot of it was stuff they could climb in, on or though but she was able to do she did have a blast. She really loved the pony rides (after all she is mine). She got on the pony and was ready to go, she grabbed the saddle horn and was ready to ride. When the ride was over she hugged the horse's neck and kissed it.we have a video but I have to wait for Jon to down load it and then I will get it put on. So enjoy the pictures.

After Diner Apple
After diner tonight Carly decided she wanted an apple. So I peeled it for her because she doesn't like the skin and then she went to town on it. She is so funny, she still only has six teeth but as you can see she put some good bites in.

Jon got a Deer!!!!
Jon went hunting the other day and got a nice size Doe. He was so excited that he forgot to take any pictures of it so we had to take pictures of the meat once he got it home. So here are some pictures of the ham and the shoulder. I made a very tasty stew with some of the ham and some beef in the crock pot today and it was really good. Jon used his dehydrator and made some very tasty deer jerky. We had the stew for diner and Carly was eating it like there was no tomorrow. So I think that means it was pretty good.

Plants
When I got this cactus I was told it was a Christmas cactus, but as you can see it is blooming and it's not Christmas. So is there a such thing as a Halloween cactus? Well if there is it's the wrong color it should be orange not pink. And I don't know if you can see them really well in the picture but my Lilly of the valley that I took home from Corbin's funeral is blooming also. I have named her Corby and she usually has one bloom on her but she has 5 on her now. They all came out on Corbin's Birthday and they just opened the other day. She is so pretty with all her white flowers on her.
